Who the MT-25 suits

  • Riders who can use a manual gearbox and want something sportier than a trail bike
  • Long coastal runs, mountain roads and daily rides around the south and east of the island
  • Anyone staying a month or more who wants a light bike that's cheap to run and easy to park
  • Keep it off dirt tracks: road tyres and low ground clearance. For tracks, see the WR155.

Before you ride

  • You need your home motorcycle licence and an International Driving Permit (IDP) that covers motorcycles. Police in Bali check both, and missing documents can mean an on-the-spot fine. For a long stay, a local SIM C works too.
  • The MT-25 has a manual gearbox. If you've never ridden one, tell us before you book.
  • Helmets and a phone holder are included. We recommend gloves, sturdy shoes and long trousers.
  • No deposit. We need your ID and driving licence. You keep your passport.

Yamaha MT-25 rental questions

Is the Yamaha MT-25 good for beginners?

It's one of the easier sport bikes to ride. It's light, the power is smooth and the seat is low. You do need to be comfortable with a manual gearbox and clutch.

How fast is the MT-25?

About 36 hp from 249cc. It's quick off the line, fine at highway speeds and a lot easier to manage than a 650.

Can I take it on dirt roads?

Rough tarmac is fine, but it has road tyres and low ground clearance. For tracks, rent the Yamaha WR155.

How much is an MT-25 monthly rental?

Monthly pricing is IDR 4.6M. Weekly and monthly rates are cheaper per day. See the price table above.

Do I need a special licence?

What is the difference between the MT-25 and the MT-25 facelift?

Both have the same 249cc twin and the same upright riding position. The only difference is the design: the facelift is a 2020 model with newer styling and lights, and our standard MT-25s are pre-2020. The standard MT-25 costs a little less. See also the MT-25 facelift.
